We can fit a ROOF RACK on the following car models:
Group C - Opel Corsa a/c
Group D - Opel Corsa CDTI
Group E - Opel Astra 1.4
Group I - Opel Astra Automatic
Group J - Opel Astra 1.4 Automatic
The price of a roof rack is 6 EUR/day with a maximum charge of 84 EUR/rental.

Insurance excess waiver is available at the car rental desk on pick-up at a cost of :
9,00 Euro PER DAY FOR GROUPS A, B, and C,
11,00 Euro PER DAY FOR GROUPS D, E, I and J,
15,00 Euro FOR GROUPS F, G, H and N, AND
20,00 Euro FOR THE REMAINING GROUPS.

Do I need an Insurance for Spain trips? |

Green Card insurance to take the car into Spain - Groups A, B, C, D E : 50 euros, Groups G, H, I, J : 60 euros and Groups F, K, L, M, N, V, X : 80 euros, all payable locally.

Out of hours delivery/collection fee |

For the airport offices out of hours delivery/collection (00.00 - 07.00) is 18 Euros per rental.
The offices that are not in the airport the working hours are from 9 AM to 7 PM.
At airport offices the working hours in Portugal mainland are from 6 AM to 12 AM ( 00:00 - midnight ).
All Auto Jardim offices are opened on Sunday and Saturday.

What is covered by your excess insurance? |
|
|

The full excess insurance in case the accident is covers everything, after you show us the police report.
In case of paying the full excess insurance you will not loose the deposit for the car.
The insurance do not cover in case of negligence of the driver, the loss of keys, damage wheels, windshields.

How to Pay for Elelctronic Tolls for A22 Algarve Highway? |

There are essentially 2 options; Pre and Post Pay. Pre Pay is cheaper as you do not pay a administration fee each time.
Prepay
If you have a DE (elelctronic device) then you will either pre-pay by loading an amount on to it or you will be debited automatically from your bank account as you use the tolls.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you have already applied online for your DE but not received it, you will need to post Pay (as below) until you get it but if you take evidence of your application (reference number) when you pay you will not be charged the administration fee.
Postpay
If you do not have a DE then you are expected to go to a PayStation or CTT (post office) within 5 days of using the motorway, with your vehicle registration number and pay your tolls, (N.B. Only Portuguese registered vehicles can post-pay at CTT), an administration fee will also be charged. If it is not paid within 5 days then fines will also be added.
Starting with December 2011 CTT will provided, on its website Portal http://portagens.ctt.pt, a new feature that will allow users to view unpaid tolls and the date they are due.

Does the insurance option cover everything? |

There are 2 kind of insurances:
1. excess insurance that cover the damages of the car.
2. personal insurance that cover the medical expenses for all the people in the car

A22 TOLLS roads payment? If I use highway A22 in Algarve what tolls I have to pay? |

We will update soon our terms and conditions for this new A22 (Algarve), A23 (Torres Novas-Guarda), A24 (Viseu-Chaves) and A25 (Vilar Formoso-Aveiro) motorway taxes.
Until them, here are some details for this:
There are essentially 2 options to pay for the use of theses motorways: electronic and manual.
1. Electronic payment
If you have a DE, (Electronic Device for payment,) then you can pay electronically by loading an amount on to
it or you can be debited automatically from your bank account.
You can lease a Temporary Device (TD) from CTT/post offices or motorway service stations. The price for the
leasing is proportional to the leasing period, around €6 for the 1st week and an extra €1,50 for following
weeks (+VAT).
A 27€ deposit is also payable. (Please note these prices may have changed since this document was created).
The deposit is re-fundable on return of the device but any remaining credit will not be refunded.
When leasing the device, you can choose between two methods of payment for toll charges:
- Direct payment: debit from a multibanco or credit card for the tolls charges used;
- Pre-payment: preloading a minimum of 10 Euros, please note that in this case, the preloaded and unused
balance is non-refundable.
2. Manual payment
If you do not have an Electronic Device for automatic payment then you should go to a ‘PayShop’ or CTT
(post office) within 5 days of using the motorway -but not on the same day of use- with your vehicle
registration number and pay the tolls for the motorways you’ve used in previous days.
An administration fee will also be added to the amount due.
If it is not paid within 5 days then fines will also be added.
FINES
If you do not have an Electronic Device or do not manually pay the due charges then you will be fined.
Photos are taken of registration plates and bills and fines will be sent to your registered home address in
your country of origin.
